if there were no songbirds #poem

if there were no songbirds
how would we live
if there were no songbirds
it’d be harder to give
if there were no songbirds
the sky would fall down
if there were no songbirds
thoughts would all drown
if there were no songbirds
nature would be hollow
if there were no songbirds
I would miss the swallow
if there were no songbirds
I wouldn’t want to live here
if there were no songbirds
no reflection in the mirror
if there were no songbirds
I couldn’t enjoy the outdoors
if there were no songbirds
I’d long for future shores
if there were no songbirds
I couldn’t say good night
if there were no songbirds
it just wouldn’t be right
