Moonlight Sonata #poetry

flowing oceans

of achingly beautiful sound

wash over emotions

eliciting exaltations

flooding sensations

feelings swell

each breath dwells

lost in a sea of anticipation

for the next wave of ecstatic revelation

determined tones echo through the senses

the stars listen

the sky weeps

melodic tears seep through rock

quenching parched deserts of soul

sand passes through the hour glass

as ages elapse

moments collide in time

purified resonance distils

you to the essence

of peaceful calm

as the end draws

the void is filled with silence

of all that is

I use the last three words of this poem in a poem I wrote years ago, and it’s the title of my upcoming book. This is a beautiful poem and it’s always heartening to find our universal consciousness shared by writers we like.

Beautiful poem. I love the parallel between the poem and Moonlight Sonata.
