casually shed

on this weary chest

of drawers

filled with

long forgotten papers

strewn about

like yesterday’s news

your falling buds of remembrance

kiss us

renewing our humanity

you are rainbow mist dispersed on ocean breeze

the rustling whispers of wind in trees

inchworm’s slink on its meditative path

cheeky smile of a cheshire cat

tattered straw of well worn hat

ephemeral billow of window sheers

crystalized salt in grieving tears

haunting call of barred owl drawing near

wolf’s howl in the deep dark wild

joyful song sung by a delighted child

the wink of the moon on a crisp winter night

sacred fire flames dancing brilliant bright

you are the stillness

the silence

between each breath

you are deeply loved

and well beyond death
